The Brain Behind Site Build It: Ken Evoy
SiteSell was founded by Dr. Ken Evoy in the late 1990s. Ken is a medical doctor, inventor, teacher, author, entrepreneur and family man. Dr. Evoy formerly taught and practiced emergency medicine at McGill University. He says he realized early in his medical career that he wanted to practice medicine… but, only as a hobby that he loved. Can you imagine making the choice to be a doctor as a “hobby” just because you love it?!
Dr. Evoy and his wife later ventured into a game and toy design business and eventually licensed 23 designs to leading toy companies world-wide. Thanks to this highly successful early venture, Ken did indeed make medicine his “part-time hobby” which he still loves and practices.
In 1996, Dr. Evoy “accidentally” became interested and completely captivated by the Internet. He developed what he describes as “virtually impossible to sell investing software”. Ironically Ken figured out how to successfully sell this very expensive not-for-everyone investment software… virtually on the Internet. Based on this experience, he realized then, and believes it remains true today that everyone has the same chance to successfully market a product or service on the World Wide Web.
Since SiteSell’s official launch in November, 1997, Ken Evoy has proven (and so have thousands of others, through the use of Ken’s Site Build It!) this to be true. SBI! is an ever evolving business building system that allows anyone regardless of tech skills or education to succeed online. SBI! is now taught as a class in colleges and universities worldwide for those who prefer to learn in a classroom setting.
